Michael Leonard Rutigliano (born 1960) is a sergeant from Mississauga and been with the Ontario Provincial Police since 1981. He is notable for being involved in several ongoing corruption cases. Business dealings Rutigliano has worked at the aircraft maintenance company, Aero-One Technical Solutions. He has also owned a window company. Criminal charges On May 14, 2009, Sgt. Rutigliano was charged in several cases. He was charged with defrauding Bombardier Inc. of more then $15 million in conjunction with his aircraft maintenance company, Aero-One Technical Solution with a business associate and two employees of Bombardier He has also been charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice with veteran Crown prosecutors Richard Bennett and Domenic Basile. Canadian beverage magnate Frank D'Angelo was charged with sexually assaulting a 22-year old, and was found not guilty on April 21. The Toronto Star reported that Sgt. Rutigliano had been photographed at D'Angelo's celebration party at his Forget About It Supper Club restaurant. D'Angelo has also been charged. The prosecution alleged in court documents that Rutigliano conspired to obstruct, pervert or defeat the course of justice in the prosecution of D'Angelo. In another case, Sgt. Rutigliano is charged with conspiracy and attempting to obstruct justice in a Toronto Maple Leafs ticket scam involving Peter Jerry Mavroudis, who was found guilty and sentenced to four years on January 27, 2009 and has been additionally charged with obstructing justice and impersonation with intent to commit a crime.. As a result of a executing search warrants , the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch added seven weapons charges after finding brass knuckles and throwing stars at Rutigliano's residence. He was released on $300,000 bail on May 22, 2009. He was suspended from duty. These cases were first heard in a judge Richard Peck's Brampton court on June 8, 2009. These cases are expected to return to court on July 20, 2009.
