Michael Reed McLaughlin

Michael Reed McLaughlin is a filmmaker and author of fantasy novels under the pen name of Sterling Drake. He attended Brigham Young University where he earned a bachelor's degree in film and television in 1995. While in film school he won a Student Emmy for his short film The Fourth Trimester.
After graduating from film school, Michael Reed McLaughlin went on to direct his first feature film Of Love & Betrayal, which was filmed on location in The Bahamas and shot on 35 mm film on a 76' schooner. After losing control of the project to a producer, he was able to legally establish copyright and ownership of the film and completed a 120 minute director's cut of the movie in 2010. Before that, the movie was only available in the 90 producer's version, which was distributed overseas, selling in Latin America, Malaysia, Italy and other territories but shelved in the United States.
