Michael Jonathan Gale (born October 27, 1962) is a former Silicon Valley technology entrepreneur and venture investor turned investment banker. He is a principal of First Penny Investments and sits on the Boards of numerous technology companies. He has been involved in over 100 start-up companies in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Gale entered the personal computer industry in 1981 by importing educational software into his native Australia. He was later an executive at Computer Power and then Macromedia prior to its 1993 NASDAQ listing (later acquired by Adobe). He has been variously an angel investor, technology banker and venture capitalist since 1994. He was a cofounder and managing director of Double Impact Incorporated, an investment bank prominent in the 1990s in San Francisco. Gale had a minor role as an investor in the 2012 Bravo Television reality show Start-Ups: Silicon Valley Gale has written columns for the online magazine Australian Anthill. Gale is a frequent conference speaker and panelist. Gale is the son of prominent academic Fay Gale and nephew of astronomer Colin Stanley Gum On November 8, 2015, Gale's business partner Angad Paul died in an apparent suicide
