Michael E. Werner (born on June 4, 1959) is an American businessman and entrepreneur. He is currently the CEO and founder of Home Experience LLC (“HomeX”). Werner was born in Ontario, Canada. He was raised in Highland Park, Illinois, and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford University (1982). He has held positions at several prominent corporations, including Goldman Sachs and Pacific Holding Co., and leadership positions at Werner Ladder Co. and Globe Union Group, Inc. Education Werner attended Stanford University, where he took part in the Coterminal Degrees Program. Career Werner began his career in 1982 at Goldman Sachs in the M & A Department in New York, New York, spending three years with the firm. He left to join the financier David Murdock, a Goldman Sachs client, at his Pacific Holding Co. in Los Angeles, California. Werner serves on the Board of Directors for the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Werner Co. In 1989, Werner joined Werner Ladder Co., eventually serving as President and Vice Chairman. In 1997 Investcorp purchased the 75-year-old family business for $500 million. Werner continued to run the company for three years following the sale. Globe Union Group, Inc. Werner joined Globe Union Group, Inc. in 2002 as the company’s CEO. Globe Union Group is a manufacturer and distributor of branded and private label kitchen and bath products which produces Gerber and Danze plumbing products. He received the Turnaround Management Association company of the year award in 2004. While at Global Union Group Werner began exploring ways to integrate technology into the home improvement shopping experience. In 2016, he left Globe Union Group. HomeX In 2017 Werner founded HomeX. In April 2021, HomeX went through a $90 million capital raise with New Mountain Capital to accelerate its growth and expand its services across North America.
