The Miami-South Florida football rivalry is a college football rivalry between the Hurricanes of the University of Miami and the Bulls of the University of South Florida. History These two universities in the state of Florida first met on the football field on October 1, 2005. Miami won the game by a score of 27-7. The teams met every year from 2009 to 2013, with South Florida notching its first win in the series on November 19, 2010 by a score of 23-20 in overtime. The game would prove to be Miami head coach Randy Shannon's last, as he would be fired the day after the game. The last three contests between the schools have all been won by the Hurricanes; a 6-3 win on November 19, 2011, a 40-9 blowout on November 17, 2012 and a 49-21 victory on September 28, 2013. On May 14, 2019, the schools announced a three-game renewal of the series; a 2025 contest at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, a 2027 contest at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and a 2028 game at Hard Rock Stadium.
