Melbourne Murugan Temple

Melbourne Murugan Temple is located in Sunshine, a western suburb of Melbourne city, Australia. This is the only Murugan temple constructed in Melbourne. A cultural trust to build the temple was formed in 1995 and finished the construction in 1999. The people in Melbourne were attracted to this traditional styled temple.
History
Murugan worshipping in Victoria, Australia was initiated by a Sri Lankan Tamil, Mani Selvendra who brought a vel (weapon of Lord Muruga) made up of five metals. She initiated the construction of the temple for Lord Murugan. In 1995 a culture centre was formed to build a temple in Melbourne for Lord Muruga. The opening ceremony of the temple was held in 1999. The deity was called Melbourne Murugan.
Sanctums in this temple
There are sanctums for Lord Muruga with his wives Goddess Devasena and Goddess Valli, Dakshinamurthy, Vishnu, Durga and the Navagrahas
