Meghalaya Rural Livelihoods Society

Meghalaya Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) is a Government nodal agency that is responsible for implementing the in the state of Meghalaya, India. It is registered under the Meghalaya Society Registration Act XII of 1983. The fundamental tenet of the Rural Livelihood Mission is to uplift poverty of the rural populace of India by helping them form Self Help Groups (SHG) thereby creating an avenue for self employment and sustainability.
The objectives of MSRLS:
• Facilitate and empower active and affinity based groups of the rural poor.
• Enhance their capability, understanding and
provide opportunities for the rural poor, to work
for their development.
• Strengthen the institutions of the Poor (SHGs, Village Organisations, Cluster Level Federations, etc.) to become a responsive,
inclusive, accountable, social and sustainable
body; representing and assisting the poor.
• Facilitate and open new avenues for taking up
various livelihood activities
