Megan McCauley

Megan McCauley (born August 31, 1988) is an American rock singer-songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio. She got her widest exposure in 2005, when three of her songs were placed on the soundtracks of major motion pictures.
Biography
McCauley got her professional start singing country music at state fairs in Ohio at the age of six, while still appearing under the name Megan Ashley. McCauley and her mother lived in a suburb of Cleveland, where McCauley stated she spent much of her time in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, firmly changing her style from country to rock. McCauley credits Janis Joplin and Rasputina's front woman Melora Creager as her major influences. As a young teen she and her mother moved to Orlando, Florida where she began working with the local musicians and managers in the area.
She was signed by Wind-up Records and in 2004 they included one of her songs on the Elektra soundtrack and two others on the Fantastic Four soundtrack. Also that year, she released a self-titled EP.
In 2007, after many delays, McCauley released her debut album, Better Than Blood. The album received little to no promotion, with only "Tap That" released as a single which failed to chart. The song "Porcelain Doll" appeared in the 2008 Disney movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua and a promotional, low-budget music video was released on YouTube. All the tracks from this album have been co-written by Siham Shnurov except for I'll Pay You To shoot Him, Tap That, Wrong Way Out & Porcelain doll.
McCauley has stated since late 2008 that she is currently in the process of writing her second album and living in Cleveland. As of 2010, she is no longer listed on the Wind-up Records signed artist roster and has since moved to a new record label. According to McCauley's Facebook page, she expects to release new material in 2011.
