Academia MAE requires advanced knowledge in mathematics, physics, industrial chemistry and mechanics. The departments of polytechnic universities that offer degrees in MAE encompass disciplines such as dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, manufacturing and design, micro- and nano-engineering, structural and solid mechanics, and systems and control.
