McMullen-Booth Road

McMullen-Booth Road, is the name of a portion of a major road that runs in the north-south direction through eastern Pinellas County, Florida whose name changes to in the northern section of the county and 7 Springs Boulevard on into Pasco County. South of the Bayside Bridge the street's name becomes 49th Street as it runs through the central/southern part of the county. It is officially labeled as Pinellas County Road 611 (CR 611). The road used to terminate at SR 60/Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard until the Bayside Bridge was constructed over Tampa Bay in 1993, which joined McMullen-Booth Road with 49th Street. The bridge was completed prior to widening the then narrow two lane road that passed over some rather hilly sections in Clearwater, FL; since widening in the mid 1990s, the road today is a six lane thoroughfare which provides significant relief to traffic along U.S. Route 19 in Pinellas County. Landmark Drive at one point was considered by the city of Clearwater to be a potential meaningful north-south corridor road though this idea passed in favor of widening McMullen-Booth Road.
The original road connected the James P. McMullen clan settlements at Bayview, Florida (currently Eastern Clearwater) at the southern terminus of the road with the Booths (purportedly descendants of Count Odet Philippe.) settlements north of Safety Harbor, Florida.
