Maximillian Joseph Koeck,(born October 2, 1876) was the President and CEO of the Cape Brewery & Ice Company at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Maximillian Joseph's family name "Koeck", natives from Germany, had been in the brewing business for some 200 years. His wife Lucile Alice von Overstoltz was the daughter of Mayor Henry Overstolz. The family dynasty of Overstolz was the ancestral family of Cologne patricians and was one of the most influential and wealthiest families in medieval Cologne whose ancestry was direct from the Roman family name Superbus. Early life and education Born in Munich, Germany on October 2, 1876, Maximillian Joseph was one of seven children born to Carl Koeck and his wife Teresa Kalb. Among his siblings was a chemist, an attorney, a professor and a physician. where he spent six months before spending a year engaged in the brewing business in South Bend, Indiana. Maximillian Joseph then returned to the same college to take a course in steam engineering. A Catholic, Maximillian Joseph married Lucile Alice von Overstoltz on January 1, 1906, a native of St. Louis. Lucile was one of six children born to St. Louis Mayor Henry von Overstolz and Philippina Espenschied. On returning to U.S. in 1892, Ruckstull opened a studio in New York City, where his work Evening won the grand medal for sculpture at the . Career In 1903, Maximillian Joseph then headed a brewery in Hermosillo (Sonora county), Mexico for two years, before returning to Europe. Two years later, Maximillian Joseph returned to the United States and purchased a controlling interest in Cape Brewery & Ice Company, a business which was founded in 1862. Cape Brewery and Ice Company manufactured Ideal beer, which was shipped throughout southern Missouri. At the time, it was the only brewery in southern Missouri. Lucile's brother, Charles Henry von Overstoltz later served as treasurer of the company. Personal life Maximillian Joseph and Lucile had one son, Maximillian Joseph Koeck, Jr. He married Nettie Marie Poe and they had one son, Maximillian Joseph Koeck, III. Max J. Koeck, III married a thirteenth generation Chilean, Luz Eugenia Fuenzalida-Vadillo. She is a member of the founding families of Chile and a direct descendant of Spanish conquistador Andrés de Fuensalida, who arrived to Chile in 1549 with another Spanish conquistador, Pedro de Valdivia.<ref name=":1" /><ref name=":2" />
