Mattia Destro (born 20 March 1991) is an Italian footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Genoa, on loan from Inter as of July 2010. International career On 2 October 2007, he made his debut with the Italy U-17 squad in a 2-1 win over Armenia in the qualifying round of the U-17 European Championship. In the qualifying phase for the 2010 UEFA Under-19 Championship he scored five goals as Italy topped Group 1. In the elite stage, he again left his mark with three goals in three games, guaranteeing qualification to the final stage. As of April 21, 2010, he had scored a total of 21 goals from 29 matches under three levels of national youth teams. |
