Matthew Neuringer

Matthew E. Neuringer was born in Yonkers, New York and for the past ten years has resided in Putnam County. The son of a construction worker and a homemaker, Matt has successfully overcome many unique hardships to become the youngest announced candidate for public office in 2007.

Matt graduated from Carmel High School and resides in Southeast, NY. Matt has served and continues to serve our community through many organizations, such as Putnam Associated Resource Center (PARC), Holiday on the Lake, Putnam Hospital Center (PHC), local 4-H, and the March of Dimes. A highly talented, natural leader and organizer, Matt previously Chaired, successfully reorganized and energized the Putnam County Young Republicans. Currently, Matt proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Putnam County United Way. In coordination with local schools, Matt has worked to focus attention on Drunk Driving Awareness throughout Putnam County. To promote this goal, Matt has organized Drunk Driving Symposia presented to local high school students. In addition, Matt has toured the East Coast to present motivational workshops for student members of the Future Business Leaders of America (F.B.L.A.).

Matt is currently studying Law and Public Policy at Fordham University where he is on the cutting edge of legal and public policy studies. He brings a unique, fresh and informed perspective to a stale, tired government in Southeast that is in need of an upbeat change. Recently, Matt tirelessly worked as the Campaign Manager for now-Assemblyman Gregory R. Ball. Following their successful effort, Assemblyman Ball appointed Matt to the position of Legislative Director. During Greg Ball's campaign, Matt successfully focused attention and developed plans to finally address many chronic issues of central interest to residents of Southeast. Presently Matt, a member of the Brewster Chamber of Commerce, worked as an executive at a local investment firm in Mahopac.
