Cameron Matthew Followill (born September 10, 1985), better known as Matthew Followill, is the lead guitarist of Kings of Leon. He is a cousin to the other band members. Personal life Followill was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and raised in a semi-sheltered upbringing, like his cousins. Matthew Followill started to play guitar at just 10 years old by lessons and hard work. He dropped out of school in 11th grade to pursue music, after his cousins asked him to join their band. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee and Los Angeles, California with wife Johanna Bennett. They are expecting a baby in Spring 2011.
