Matt Lowell

Matt Lowell is a singer-songwriter from New York City.
Career
A native New Yorker, Matt Lowell released his debut album Dixie Land in Winter 2007. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he went on to release his first EP, First Taste in January 2009. Songs from this album were featured on television shows including The Real World: Brooklyn,<ref name="Erickson" /> ESPN, and the Everwood DVD. Later that year, his second EP, Second Storm was released. The EP was co-written and produced by 2008 Boston Music Producer of the Year, Crit Harmon.
In March 2011, Lowell released his third EP, Swan Lake. The EP was co-written by recording artist John Vanderslice (Dead Oceans) and produced by Joel Hamilton (Matisyahu, Black Keys, Sparklehorse) and John Davis (bassist for the band Nerve). Magik*Magik Orchestra is featured on the EP.
Four months later, on July 11, 2011, Lowell released another EP, Drop Your Guns. This one was also produced by John Davis.
Lowell was named an "Artist to Watch" by Clear Channell. He has played over 100 shows at venues including BB Kings, Mercury Lounge, Gramercy Theatre, as well as festivals including South By Southwest, CMJ, and Sundance Film Festival. He has also opened for acts including Eve 6, Jeffrey Gaines, Martin Sexton, and Howie Day.
