Maryum Azmi

Maryum Azmi is a Pakistani actress and TV-show host now based in Karachi. She is best known for her roles in sitcoms produced in Lahore, where she had been living and working until recently.
Career
Publishing
Maryum comes from a publishing background in Dubai, where she was based until 2007. By the time she left Dubai, Maryum had the experience of managing the distribution of over 40 publications at a time in one job, and ran Canvas, the top Arab art magazine which went out all over the world, in her last job. She moved to Lahore to produce her own magazine, after which she switched careers to television, in which field she has been working till date.
Acting
Maryum’s first TV project was the lead role in Yeh To Hona Hi Tha, a 26-episode serial on Hum TV produced by Talking Filmain and directed by Adil Sher. She played the character of a music teacher on the sitcom Rubber Band, which aired on ARY Digital. Next came Khabardar, in which Maryum played the role of a News Anchor, this sitcom also aired on ARY Digital.
Following the same trend, her next appearance was in another sitcom, this time on Hum TV’s Side Order, in which she played the role of a young professional. Maryum also hosted and scripted a show on Waqt called Fashion Lounge; Gen-Y, a men’s fashion show on FTV; a music countdown on The Musik called Vote-up, and one on ATV called Popshop. Maryum has recently moved to Karachi, where she has already shot two music videos directed by Sohail Javed.
