Mary Liedel (born March 1, 2000) is an American college basketball player for the Davenport Panthers of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Prior to Davenport, she played for the Lourdes Gray Wolves, where she scored a total of 400 points in two partial seasons, and was an all-conference selection in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. She played High School basketball for Erie Mason High School where she was the all-time school and regional leader for total points. Early life and high school career Liedel was born in Erie, Michigan, and began playing basketball at 6 years old. She was a four-year starter for the Erie Mason Eagles, where she scored a school record of 1,784 career points. She scored a school record of 51 points in a single game. College career Liedel signed with the Spring Arbor Cougars, where she played 13 games as a freshman, before transferring to Lourdes. In her sophomore year, she started in 17 games. She posted a season-high 15 points, and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds. Liedel averaged 8.8 points per game, and 6.8 rebounds per contest. As a junior, she started in all 19 games. Her career-high was 22 points against Taylor, and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds. Liedel averaged 13.2 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, was an WHAC all-conference selection, and shot 46% from the field. Her three-point percentage of 41%, ranked 32nd nationally. After her junior year, she transferred to play for the Davenport Panthers. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Liedel was required to sit for the 2021-22 season. Because of the pandemic, NCAA regulations allow her to be eligible for two more seasons. Personal life Mary is the daughter of Beth and Brad Liedel, and is one of 10 children.
