Mary W. Hicks is a professor Emeritus at Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. Mary Ward Hicks taught at Florida State University for 30 years in the Interdivisional Program of Marriage and the Family. Hicks came to Florida State University in 1973. Hicks received the Ernest G. Osborne Teaching Award from the National Council on Family Relations. Educated at the University of Idaho and the University of California, Hicks received her PhD in Child Development from Pennsylvania State University.
