Mary Anne Feeney

Mary Anne Feeney is an American journalist and event organizer.
Professional career
Mary Anne Feeney is Senior Director of External Relations at the International Peace Institute (IPI), for which she has been working since November 2007. She leads an event planning team and organizes IPI meetings and events, including policy forums, book presentations, conferences, seminars and workshops. The International Peace Institute is an independent, non-profit research and development organization in New York that works closely with the Secretariat and the members of the United Nations. It specialises in multilateral approaches to peace and security issues and develops solutions to emerging international problems and crises.
Prior to joining IPI, Mary Anne worked as Executive Coordinator at Amnesty International in the United States. There she worked as a link between the Executive Director and the staff. She developed a strategy for fundraising events and media work, coordinated special events for the Director, participated in various meetings on behalf of the Director, and spoke with the Research Unit and programmes to plan campaign efforts to launch actions and reports, and published the internal national newsletter.<ref name="IPI"/>
She received her bachelor's degree in communications with a focus on journalism from Fordham University and has carried out some postgraduate work in the field of international relations at New York University.<ref name="IPI"/>
