Martin Wiesmann

Martin Wiesmann is a Senior Associate Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations, focusing on geo-economics.
Education
Wiesmann holds a master's degree in politics, history, and public law from the University of Bonn. He studied politics at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and earned an MBA from the Joseph Katz School of Business in Pittsburgh.
Career
Wiesmann began his career at Dresdner Bank. He later moved to Deutsche Bank's investment banking division before joining J.P. Morgan. At J.P. Morgan, he held various senior positions, culminating in his role as Vice Chairman of Investment Banking in Europe. He advised large corporations and public sector institutions on significant transactions across various industries, including transport, automotive, real estate, and finance.
Wiesmann served as a Senior Associate Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations, focusing on geo-economics. He is a member of the NOT MANAGEMENT supervisory board at LEG Group and a Managing Partner at Berlin Global Advisors.
