Anthropology first use in English: 1593) is the study of human beings, everywhere and throughout time. Anthropology has its intellectual origins in both the natural sciences, and the humanities. Its basic questions concern, "What defines Homo sapiens?" "Who are the ancestors of modern Homo sapiens?" "What are our physical traits?" "How do we behave?" "Why are there variations and differences among different groups of humans?" "How has the evolutionary past of Homo sapiens influenced its social organization and culture?"

Martial Arts share at least a single objective: to physically defeat other persons and to defend oneself or others from physical threat.In popular culture, the term Martial Arts often specifically refers to the combat systems that originated in Asian cultures, especially East Asian Martial Arts. However, the term actually refers to any codified combat system, regardless of origin. While each style has unique facets that make it different from other Martial Arts, a common characteristic is the systematization of fighting techniques. Methods of training vary and may include sparring (simulated combat) or formal sets or routines of techniques known as forms or Kata. Forms are especially common in the Asian and Asian-derived Martial Arts.
Martial Anthropology simply stated: is the interdisciplinary study of the origin, history, development, evolution, and future of Martial Art Science and the implications and impact on humanity, ethics, ecology, economics, and ultimate human survival.
Martial Anthropology is a highly complex subject and as such deserves a more fully developed, detailed definition and understanding in order to further grasp the higher meaning and complex inter-dynamic scope.
The Martial Anthropology Institute was founded in 2001 in Honolulu, Hawaii by Professor Maestro Dr. Montalban Sensei of the Institute Martial Art Science International and the Martial Anthropology Institute.
