Martín Urdiroz Apezarena (7 April 1911 - 22 November 1994), also known as Urdiroz II, was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for CA Osasuna between 1928 and 1936. His brothers and Filo also played football for Osasuna. Early life Martín Urdiroz was born in the Navarre town of Agoitz on 7 April 1911, into a working-class family committed to football and Navarrese socialism. His father, Leandro Urdíroz Larequi, died in a work accident, hit by a train, at the El Irati company, after which his widowed mother, Feliciana Apezarena Labayen, moved to Pamplona with her eight children. Career Urdiroz began his career at his hometown club Osasuna in 1928, aged 17, being a member of the Rojillos team that participated in the inaugural edition of the Tercera División, which ended in relegation, but the club bounced back the following season. Together with José Antonio Urreaga, the Bienzobas brothers (Anastasio and Francisco), and his brothers Emilio, he helped Osasuna achieve a runner-up finish in the 1934-35 Segunda División, thus earning promotion to the top flight for the first time in the club's history. In the 1935-36 season, he played a total of 11 La Liga matches. His career came to an end with the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, during which his brother Filo was shot, while Emilio was imprisoned in a concentration camp, from which he escaped.<ref nameNava/><ref namePen/> Death Urdiroz died on 22 November 1994, at the age of 83.<ref name=Bdfut/>
