Marshall Sosby

Marshall Sosby(born 1990) is an American citizen charged with the killing of both his parents in September 2008. He allegedly killed them because they had confiscated his cell phone and Xbox 360 console. He had been living in Adrian, Michigan when the killings happened. On the night of September 23, shortly before 10 p.m., police recieved a call from Marshall saying his mother Carmen Sosby had killed his father Michael Sosby before turning the gun on herself. Police had difficulty believing this story since the entrance wound from the 9mm pistol used by Sosby was on the back of her head. He was quickly taken into custody where Adrian deputy police chief James Schwartz said Sosby "gave several reasons" for the killings, which he soon claimed responsibility for. It was discovered by authorities that Sosby had intimidated his younger siblings into going along with the story he gave police. They were turned over to their grandparents after the incident. He was quickly set to undergo psychological examinations after being interrogated by police, where it was said by Sosby that he "showed no remorse" for his actions. Police said that the killings "were not on impulse." Looking at his past actions and the current incident, he shows possible signs of psychopathy.
Background
Friends interviewed by authorities said that Marshall would make threats when angry with his parents, but they always disregarded thse threats. He was known to have been very attatched to myspace, posting a blog on his page shortly before the killings. Friends also said Sosby discussed his plan to them, but again they "passed it off as bullshitting" according to truecrimereport.com. He was known to be an avid player of video games, usually on his Xbox 360 which his parents took along with his cell phone after grounding him, which is believed to have led to the killings. By the time his parents were about to take away his Xbox 360, he had sent ominous messages out to his friends on Xbox Live, saying that he did not know what to do with himself after "what had just happened." The incident he referred to was his girlfriend whom he had impregnated by accident. She had comitted suicide because of pressure to get an abortion. The veracity of this is still disputable, but his Xbox Live friends claimed he was getting increasingly edgy and openly admitted that he did not feel sorry about the incident at all. He mentioned several of them in his final myspace blog before the killings occurred.
Charges
Sosby was charged with two counts of open murder, witness intimidation, felonious assault, and firearms charges. He faces up to life in prison if convicted. Sosby briefly appeared in Lenawee County District court before Judge Natalia M. Koselska and stated he understood the charges filed against him. Attorney Anna Marie Anzalone was appointed as his public defender and called the case "a very tragic situation." Anzalone declined commenting on her client and the details of his parent's murders. A psychological examination was needed according to authorities because of the circumstances, and possibly a second session will take place. He is still awaiting trial and sentencing by a proper jury.
