Marques Langford Stevenson (born February 19, 1986 in Seattle, Washington. Is currently playing college football at college of the redwoods, in Eureka, California. Before Marques went on to play football He enlisted in the United States Navy. He was Stationed on the USS Nassau. He participated in three deployment before leaving the Navy to pursue a higher education.Deployments are as follows to Guantanamo Bay Cuba One to Haiti and One to Iraq. Stevenson Graduated from Hercules High School In Hercules, California. Born to David.Wade And Amika.Stevenson. He has one child, Zamariyah Lachele White who is going to be three as of march 20th 2009. Early Years Marques started playing organized football at the age of 11.He first started out playing offensive guard.For a local community center called Ranier Play Field In Seattle Washington(RDYAA)were he played with a host of football and basket ball players that are now in the NBA. Aaron Brooks of Franklin High School, Nate Robinson of Ranier Beach High School.He later went on to play football at sequoia junior High in Kent WA. Where he went on to rush for the 1,000 in both of his seasons there under coaches Rick Foyston, and Mike Weiss.He then transfered to Lincoln High In Tacoma WA where He played 2 years under Head Coach Dick Zatchovictch. He was an elusive, high-scoring running back and return specialist on offense and a punishing linebacker on defense. After Spending his first two years in High School He went on to transfer to Arizona powerhouse Hamilton High School where His father stayed.He played spring ball for coach John Wrenn. And then Decided to take his talents to the Great State of California.He then played two years at full back and middle line backer starting both ways for coach Greg Ochs.While there he had a career day on the defense against Encinal High school. Where he went on to set the school record for most tackles in a game at 23 and most sacks in a game at 4.Which earned him the ACCAL defensive player of the week. He had several colleges recruiting him his senior year but due to injury Nevada reno, UNLV , and Fresno State did not offer.So he went the division 2 route and committed to the Saint Mary's Gaels. But due to budget cuts in 2004 they soon would cut their football program to keep the school afloat.There after He spent a summer in Seattle with his mother and talked with his grandfather Frank Stevenson and decided that four years in the military would allow him to heal and mature physically and would allow him to have most of his school payed for.In which he did and now is living His dream Playing College football.
