Marlon Campbell

Marlon Campbell (born January 14, 1972) is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and musician born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Campbell is best known date=July 2010 for his accolades in the music business during the early 90s' as frontman of Alternative Rap group, Shy Shy and the Crime. In early 2000, he formally transitioned from recording artist to record executive and took on the role as business liaison for a variety of Grammy Award-winning recording artists, such as Whitney Houston, DJ Hurricane, and Jagged Edge. Jaded from the music business, Campbell began writing and producing various documentary films, mostly focusing on Politics, History, and Science-related issues. In early 2010, Campbell produced and directed a sitcom entitled, "Momma and Me," starring BernNadette Stanis - formerly known as Thelma of CBS' Good Times. Stanis plays the role of, "Eva," an overbearing mother to an overly ambitious son. The show's promotional trailer promises the program will deliver a new slant to the traditional family sitcom. Campbell is first cousin to American screenwriter and film mogul Tyler Perry.
