Mark Wright (born 4 September 1981) is a former professional footballer who played in The Football League for Preston North End. Career Wright joined Preston North End on schoolboy terms at the age of 16. He made his debut for the club aged 17 in December 1998 and signed a professional contract in May 1999. After making a handful of appearances in the 1999-2000 season, which ended with Preston as Second Division champions, he suffered a serious hip injury that required surgery. Having failed to recover, Wright retired from professional football in July 2003.<ref namebolton/><ref namelancashire/> |
