Mark Prindle

Mark Prindle (b. 1973) is an American musician and freelance music journalist, who has contributed to Citizine Magazine, among other publications. He lives in New York City and has run a popular website, Prindle's Rock'n'Roll Record Reviews, since 1996. The site features album reviews that are laced with intentionally crass and juvenile humor, in addition to interviews with musicians of whom Prindle is a fan.

Prindle's site doesn't post individual album reviews; instead, each artist has their own page on Prindle's site, and he reviews every release in their discography. His ratings are on a scale from one to ten (only one album has received a 0 rating). Ratings are relative to the artist's body of work, with only one ten for each artist (making every ten essentially a sort of best 9-points record of the artist).

Prindle generally covers punk/hardcore, heavy metal, and '60s pop/rock, though he is by no means limited to those genres, having also completed oeuvre reviews for artists such as Madonna, Eminem and Shooby Taylor. Aside from his deliberately offensive humor, Prindle is perhaps best known for welcoming and encouraging reader thoughts on every album he reviews, and dutifully posting each reply he receives directly beneath his original review.

Musical career
As a musician, he was a member of the band Low-Maintenance Perennials from 1989 to 1997, recording 7 albums with them. After they disbanded, he moved on to making solo records. Neither of them were ever officially released, however, they may be ordered through his website. Reviews for these albums are also available there.
