Mark Hinch

Mark Hinch (born 8 September 1982) is a South African guitarist and songwriter.
Career as a musician
Hinch started his live musical career at age 16 when he joined Pretoria-based punk band, Pet Flyz. He joined the band as a second guitarist, shortly before they were to record the song, Lucky Guy at B# Studios (Which later appeared on numerous compilation CDs, including Taking On The World - the first official South African compilation CD to feature international punk bands, including NoFX and New Found Glory).
He joined Pretoria-based punk band, ATFN as a third guitarist in 2003, initially to fill in for second guitarist, Henk Lustig, who was unable to play some shows due to illness. This initial stint went so well, that he was invited to join the band full time.
During 2004, whilst playing in two touring and studio bands, he recorded and released a short EP under the band name Detracted. Hinch performed all songwriting, guitar, bass and vocal duties, and also programmed drums and mixed the entire piece of work. It was released by fellow band member, Paul van der Walt and his indie label, Nifty Recordings.
Hinch left ATFN (who disbanded shortly after) to move to England to pursue his musical career further. He is currently living and working in London, and is working on material for his new band.
