Mark Hauser

Mark J. Hauser (Cincinnati, Ohio and Los Angeles, California) is Founder & Managing Partner of Hauser Private Equity, a hybrid private equity fund.
Early Life
Mark John Hauser was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to retired Los Angeles RAMS football player Art and Joan Hauser. Mark attended St. Xavier High School, “St. X”- an all-boys Catholic school in Cincinnati.  He graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in Finance and is a brother of Sigma Nu. 
Career
Reynolds DeWitt
Upon graduation, Mark worked at Reynolds DeWitt & Co., a merchant banking firm founded by Mercer Reynolds and Bill DeWitt. 
Reynolds Plantation
In 1985, Mercer Reynolds brought together Hauser, Bob Castellini, and a few other investors to form Linger Longer Development Corporation and develop Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee outside Atlanta, GA.  Reynolds Plantation is comprised of a Five Diamond Ritz Carlton Resort, residential developments, and five championship golf courses. Castellini would go on to acquire the Cincinnati Reds.
Cincinnati Sports Mall
Together with Bob Castellini, Mark Hauser developed the Cincinnati Sports Mall.  With over 4,000 members, the “Cincinnati Sports Club” remains the largest indoor sports complex in Ohio with 110,000 square feet of indoor athletic facilities on 13 acres of land. It serves as the official training facility of the Cincinnati Reds (MLB.) 
Hauser Private Equity
Mark Hauser founded Hauser Capital Partners to manage the investments of Hauser Davis Tysoe, LLC.  This investment partnership laid the foundation for Hauser Private Equity. Hauser Private Equity (HPE) is a hybrid private equity fund manager with direct investments in over 20 privately owned companies and investments in over 40 private equity funds spanning 150+ realized investments and 400+ active investments within HPE’s various funds.
In 2013, Hauser Private Equity closed on its first $100,000,000 fund. Most recently, Hauser Private Equity closed $100,000,000 in a first round for their Core Fund III. Hauser Private Equity has offices in Cincinnati, OH, Los Angeles, CA, and Washington, D.C. Hauser Private Equity utilizes a strategic board of directors with 9 business leaders spanning various industries representing 20 publicly traded companies.

HAUSER, Insurance Brokerage
Mark Hauser purchased the predecessor to The Hauser Group in 1995 and grew it from a local insurance agency in Cincinnati, OH to the national risk management and benefits brokerage firm that HAUSER is today.  HAUSER specializes in creating insurance and benefits products for national companies with a private equity mindset - backed by robust due diligence and M&A teams.  HAUSER is headquartered in Cincinnati, OH with offices in Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, St. Louis, MO, Los Angeles, CA, and Kansas City, MO.  In 2016, HAUSER made waves in the Cincinnati business community when they moved into the Penthouse office space in the newly constructed Kenwood Collection Tower, a mixed-use office and retail complex in Northern Cincinnati.
Entertainment
Mark was a producer of the Tony Award winning Broadway production Jersey Boys in 2006.  Jersey Boys is still running on Broadway and in London, and has both U.S. and U.K. Tours. Hauser's Additional productions include: Spider Man, Ghost, and Tony Award nominated Wedding Singer.  Mark was Executive Producer of the children’s DVD series, Alice Upside Down, an Anchor Bay Entertainment production.
Personal Life
Mark married his wife, Margie “Wright” Hauser.  Margie Hauser is a professional composer and song writer, and a voting member of The Recording Academy.  She has charted multiple singles on Billboard and is owner of Heartsongs LLC.  Margie served as Music Supervisor for Alice.  
Together they have four children who all attended high school in Los Angeles after being raised in Cincinnati.  Mark and Margie continue to be active benefactors of Marymount Catholic High School, where Mark is Chairman of the Board of Trustees. 
Missy Hauser works in casting and talent management at Principato Young in Beverly Hills, CA and is a graduate of Chapman University’s Dodge School of Film, where she received numerous awards for her student films, including a Student Emmy Award from the Television Academy Foundation for her work on "Guide."  Eric Hauser graduated from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, and followed in his father’s investment banking footsteps.  He is currently with Houlihan Lokey in Aerospace, Defense, and Government.  Nikki Hauser currently attends and Georgetown University and Katie Hauser attends The Ohio State University. Mark and his family are avid skiers and maintain residences in Cincinnati, OH and Los Angeles, CA.
Politics
Mark Hauser served as Ohio Finance Chair for Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.  In 2006 Mark and Margie Hauser hosted the largest Senate Fundraiser in Ohio history at their Indian Hill home which drew national attention with President Bush in attendance. Mark has been an active supporter of the Republican Party of Ohio as well as managing financing for Ohio Governor John Kasich, Ohio Senator Rob Portman, Former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives John Boehner, John McCain, and Ohio Senator Mike DeWine.  Most recently, Mark Hauser served as the National Finance Chair for Governor John Kasich’s 2016 Presidential Campaign.
