Mark Dougherty

Mark Dougherty (born May 6 1980), North American singer-songwriter. Originally from Delaware, Mark Dougherty, now resides in the state of North Carolina He was at one time signed to Lost Cat Records (a digital only based record label housed out of Richmond, Virginia) where he released his first CD, Shadows in the Light in early 2006. He then went on to start his own label The Lake Isle Records through which he released his second album In Dreams. He is now working on a new project called Wooden Planes.
Though first described as a folk singer-songwriter, Mark Dougherty's style shifts into the alternative county and indie rock territory and stylistically branches from such artists as: The Red House Painters, Grant Lee Phillips, James Taylor, Van Morrison and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.He is also a 7th grade teacher at southeast middle school.his favorite class is 1st core.We often call him Silky D.His favorite student is jalapeno.Check out his myspace page.
