Mara Kayser

Mara Kayser (born 2 April 1966 in Sântana, Romania) is a singer of volkstümliche Musik and lives in Saarland.
Biography
Mara Kayser, born a Banat Swabian, began her singing career in a band that performed for weekend dances. After passing her Abitur she trained as an industry business woman and worked until 1996 as a personal assistant. In autumn 1991 she was discovered by Claus Backhaus, formerly of Die Flippers (The Flippers), at one of the dance functions.
Since then she has made numerous recordings and many television appearences. She is considered one of schlager’s hardest-working and most consistently successful artistes and is generally accepted as one of the superstars of German music.
