Maltweet

Maltweet, a malware infected url embedded in a “tweet” - a message posted to the popular microblog site Twitter. These urls are very dangerous, posing the threat of a malicious file download to a computer without the user's knowledge. Once downloaded, the file may install hidden components on a computer, then attempt to conduct malicious activity against the user or the user's computer or network resources. The malware could allow for the takeover of the computer to become part of an illegal botnet, capture sensitive user information such as usernames, passwords and other personally identifiable information, install dangerous root kits, or a variety of other nefarious activity.
