Mahesh Kanojia

Dr. Mahesh D. Kanojia is an Indian American oncologist and holistic medicine practitioner currently residing in Texas.
Biography
Kanojia was born in Marmath, India, in 1946. He attended the G.S. Medical College of the University of Mumbai (then called the University of Bombay), graduating with his MBSS degree in 1973. He emigrated to the United States in 1974. Kanojia completed his research fellowship in 1976 and a residency in internal medicine in 1979.
After initial interest in cardiology he switched to specialization in oncology after observing cancer patients. Kanojia began his first fellowship in hematology at the University of Georgia (completed in 1980) and his second at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center (finished in 1982).
In 1983, after completing his research at M. D. Anderson, Kanojia relocated to Beaumont, Texas, where he established the Julie and Ben Rogers Cancer Institute.<ref name="OD" /> In 1993, he became interested in holistic medicine, and began studying herbalism and traditional medicine, specifically the traditional medicines of China and India. To advance holistic healthcare, he founded the Beaumont Cancer Institute in 1997 (serving as its president and medical director) and the Integrated Wellness Centers of America in Houston in 2003, where it quickly expanded to several other locations in both the country and abroad.<ref name="IAA" />
Kanojia currently serves on the faculty of SVYASA Yoga University in Bangalore, India and Zeon Global Energy, a Biofuel, company, in Houston.<ref name="OD" />
