Lydia Alty (born 5 May 2005), also known as Lydia A, is a YouTuber, radio personality and a member of the Diana Award National Anti-Bullying youth board, which she joined in April 2021. She is a presenter on Bolt Radio, and has featured on Greatest Hits Radio.
Career
YouTube
Lydia started her YouTube, Lydia A, at the age of 13. The channel was called Lydia Salty's Drawings, but was changed to Lydia A after a niche change in July 2019. Her and her little brother changed in favour of family Friendly pranks, challenges and vlogs. Her most popular video was viewed over thirty thousand times. Lydia taught herself to edit videos from a very young age and now edits all her videos with help from a small video production company called Isaac Samuel Productions. Alty also owns her own independent production company called Lydia A Production, launched 2021, which has been the home of Lydia A and Harry A. In June of 2021 she posted a video about her new project called 'Kindness Campaign' which was launched in the aim to promote kindness with help from the Diana Award ,which is a charity that continues Diana's legacy and believes young people can change the world. The poem was released as a charity fundraiser for the Diana Award. Lydia posted it onto her platforms to encourage people to be kinder to others, she hoped this would help make a change to people's attitude and related it to her experience of bullying online.
Anti-Bullying Work
Lydia started her anti-bullying work in February 2019 when she first joined the Diana Award's Anti Bullying Charity as an ambassador for her school. She was first seen partnering up with the Diana Award to promote her #PLEDGETOUSEKINDNESS charity T-shirts, which she designed with London brand Shoreditch Shorties London. These T-shirts were also the start of Lydia's campaign called' The Kindness Campaign'. In April 2021 Lydia joined the Diana Award's National Anti-Bullying youth board, which is a board of young people that represents young voices across the United Kingdom. Since joining the youth board in April 2021, Alty has been featured on speaking alongside about the Diana Award's 'Don't Face it alone campaign' and spoke on Greatest Hits Radio about the new Anti Bullying campaign and spoke about her experience about cyberbullying In August 2021 Lydia joined the Diana Award, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and other organisations in supporting the Future Forward campaign by the Diana Award. She stated she wanted the people in charge to hear the young people.
Radio work
Lydia is a member of Bolt Radio, which is a radio station based in the North of England. She joined in March 2020, but left after a year there to take a break to study her GCSE's (General Certificate of Secondary Education). She has presented shows like Drivetime, Mid-Morning and Saturday morning live, released her fun fact of the week and helped with survey of the day and even got the chance to interview stars from reality TV and newcomers into the music industry. She returned on the 16th August to present the Lunchtime show In July 2021 it was announced on her social media platforms that Lydia would be joining Chiltern Voice, which is a radio station based in the Chiltern hills in Buckinghamshire.
