Lumberjack Slam is a sport played primarily in the Southeastern United States of America. Originating in Coral Springs, FL the game is played inside a standard racquetball court and and utilizes the same equipment as in normal racquetball with the addition of protective goggles. There are two players on a team, each of which takes opposite sides of the court facing the middle and the first to reach eleven points wins the round. Players must volley two balls, one red and on blue, throughout the game but must also avoid any physical contact with the ball during the game. If a blue ball touches a player the opposite team gains one point. If a red ball touches a player the opposite team gains two points Three rounds are played and best out of three games wins. The ball is allowed to touch the racquets and part of the hands above the wrists of each player but anything else is considered a point for the other team. More elaborate courts for Lumberjack Slam, typically for sponsored competition, utilize glass courts, LED and ambient lighting, and touch-responsive panels.
