Luka Kuprashvili (, 1896 - 29 August 1924). Participant of the August Uprising. His parents were Mariam Kipiani (1855-1936) and Barnaba Kuprashvili (1840-1911), priest of St. Giorgi's Church in Tsutskhvati village. He was the commander of one of the detachments of Georgian rebels against the Russian occupation regime and the Georgian Soviet government in Kutaisi uezd, in August 1924. It is clear from the archival materials that Luka Kuprashvili was appointed as the leader of the Khresili and Tkibuli districts' rebellion even before the 1924 anti-Soviet rebellion against the domination of Soviet Russia. On August 29, an unequal battle took place between Luka Kuprashvili's squad and the numerically superior punitive squad sent by the Soviet government. Luka Kuprashvili was seriously wounded in the battle and died.
