LSTI

LSTI (LTE SAE Trial Initiative - LSTI) is a global collaboration between vendors and operators. The alliance was founded in 2007, it has currently (2010) 42 members. The initiative’s main objective is the verification and promotion of 3GPP Long Term Evolution in order to ensure the global introduction of the technology as quickly as possible.
Objectives
* Stimulate early development of the LTE/SAE ecosystem
* Foster technology alignment across equipment vendors
* Demonstrate LTE/SAE capabilities against industry requirements
* Drive industrialization of 3GPP LTE/SAE technology
* Speed up LTE/SAE technology verification and maturation proving the concept of 3GPP LTE/SAE
* Interworking aspects and networking aspects
* Promote strong LTE industry momentum as the next 3GPP mobile broadband system
* Focus on LTE technology
LSTI is open for the telecommunication industry with the same motivation: the ongoing development of broadband mobile networks based on UMTS Long Term Evolution (LTE).
Furthermore, it’s the objective to support the industrialization of 3GPP LTE/SAE (System Architecture Evolution) technologies and the technical capabilities and LTE/SAE. The initiative also provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences between members.
