Loyola Public School is an educational institution in Nallapadu, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. The school is managed and administered by the members of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). History Two names will go down in history as pioneers of Loyola Public School, Guntur. Late Rt. Rev. Ignatius Mummadi, Bishop of Guntur, Catholic Diocese endeavoured and brought the Jesuits to Guntur in order to start a school. He mustered the services of Fr.T.Balaiah SJ to acquire the necessary land. Commissioned to go ahead with the project, Rev.Fr.Papaiah the pioneer and the chief architect of the School made Loyola Public School a reality with the help of Rev.Br.Stanislaus SJ The foundation stone of this, the second Jesuit Educational Institution in Andhra Pradesh was laid in the afternoon of Thursday, 30th January, 1964 by then Chief Minister of the State Dr. N Sanjeeva Reddy. Rev.Fr.L.D.Murphy SJ became the first Principal of the school which began formally on the 13th July, 1964 with an auspicious number of 13 boys. Campus The School is providing vast facilities for its students. A well furnished Library and Reading Room are provided for students of all classes. Besides the weekly library hour, books are issued every week and students are encouraged to keep a record of vocabulary building. The school is equipped with separate labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology where at a time about 50 students can do their practicals. The teacher demonstrates to the students during the lab hour, so that the student can learn easily. The Loyola Computer centre with a full fledged laboratory gives Computer Education to our children from 3rd class onwards with detailed basic syllabus incorporated into the school curriculum. Boys of IX and X are following ICSE syllabus prescribed by the ICSE Council and having computer science as their sixth subject. They do undertake project work, training themselves for computerizing any problem. The School has been giving computer education since 1989.
