Summary of the book
Love anything as it is, you cannot change love,but love can change you, you cannot change the one you love,for if you do, you won’t love the new.If it’s given by any of the intentions above the other always feels good and right.If it builds you,always be ready to get destroyed. You can’t do without it,you can’t rid it, you will look for another, yet another, still with the pain, yet another. As intoxicating it goes, it won’t mind changing you from straight to homo, and if you don’t get it, you might end up loving yourself.

Plot
The story commences at the Lajpat nagar metro station, where Junaid along with his friend Yash is studying for his last MBA 2nd year examination and is waiting for the train to arrive. He suddenly encounters Naaz who is in a hurry, and forgets her identification card and metro pass,apparently Junaid returns it and they fall in love.
On the contrary, having staying out in the USA to earn avarice Ali does not wants to return to India. Anyhow he is forcibly called and is married to Mehreen within stipulated time of 10 days. Since he has married he has not visited his home even after the birth of his twins. The demise of Mrs. Siddiqui takes place and Ali doesn't comes to her funeral on which Raila aunty and other's taunt Junaid .As the years pass Mr.siddiqui dies too and the neighbours repeat the same.
There is a deep ditch digged between the brothers. Junaid does not wants to see Ali's face. The bank is forcing Junaid to return the loan sanctioned for Ali's studies. Junaid looses his home and shifts to the flat of Naaz, which Mr. Hamid has kept as a dowry. Senait being stereotype is against the relationship of Naaz and Junaid,she doesn't wants them to meet and warns Naaz each time not to work between males.But Naaz is supported by Mr.Hamid,which has brewed more anger in her.
Naaz who is now working,despite of dating Junaid for years suddenly seems to be stuck up with her ex-boyfriend and is still meeting him.Senait discovers Naaz to be pregnant.Due to unknown disputes in Naaz's life she over dozes her self with sleeping pills.Senait finds it the right time to let down Junaid,who is feeling betrayed and cheated for he knows he's not the father of the child. Senait,Mr. Hamid and Shaan have now filed a case against Junaid for sexually assaulting and abusng Naaz.From months Junaid is alone fighting the phoney case against him.
Ali's kids refuses him to come along and he returns to India, Ali realises they have lost their home. Both the brothers are in a state of guilt and anger. Anyhow things change Junaid wins the case.
After few years on Ali's request Junaid marries Amelia.
His life has changed but he boards the metro for office each day.

Mrs.Shabana siddiqui
A primary school teacher in a private school. Having struggled with her conception issues she travels to mazaar's and dargah's in the hope a child. Eventually she is blessed with two son's at the age of 38years,naming them Ali and Junaid. She has more expectations from Ali as he's the eldest of all.
Mr.Amir Siddiqui
Father of Ali and Junaid,he's a very hardworking businessman every single peny he earns is invested on his children.He hardly smiles,the lines on his forehead can tell the stress he has in his heart.
Ali
He's Junaid's elder brother. He is a doctor who is based in the USA,he's a money minded person who keeps luxuries his first priority. He is foriably married within the span of 10 days.Also shows no keen interest to return to India.
Mehreen
Ali's wife and Junaid's sister in law. She is a depressed soul who yearns for love and care. She is blessed with twins. She hasn't returned to India, since she has married.
Yash
Rumoured as chocolaty boy,he's Junaid's best friend. He is studying in Delhi University and is sharing room with Junaid as a paying guest.
Maria
A typical Christian delhi based girl.Yash's girlfriend and Junaid's one time crush. She is annoyed with Naaz.She is dating Yash from 5 years.
Naaz
Absence of her mother in her life has left a void in her heart. She is in search of affection,a lack of guidance has made her perplexed with two worlds.
Senait
She is Naaz's elder sister.She is a Ph.d scholar.Despite of many degrees and accolade she is straitlaced,conservative and orthodox.Unlike Naaz she has a totally different acceptance to life.
Shaan
He's the younger brother of Senait and elder to Naaz. He is usually busy in his married life.
Mr.Hamid
He is the father of Naaz, Shaan and Senait.He is a person who has aged not with time but sorrows and emotions, but at the same time he doesn’t minds having a facial or a face- pack even in odd hours.He will laugh after 10 minutes if somebody tells him a joke and then, laugh again explaining back to them the same joke, when nobody else will laugh.
Raila
Raila is a 48yr old woman,also the neighbour of Shabana.She is the first friend Mr's Siddiqui becomes with in Delhi. She is the woman who is given hands to Shabana everytime everywhere. She has seen both Ali and Junaid grow infront of her eyes. She keeps out a life changing secret over years from Junaid.
Amelia
She is Junaid's spouse. She understands that marriage is all about understanding the person emotions and what they are feeling at the moment and how they would react to a situation which is not suitable.She loves Junaid and is aware of the fact of Junaid and Naaz's love affair.She knows love is not forced, it is when one wills.
