Love motive

The Love Motive is possibly the most common of motives in novels, songs and movies. Even when such a novel, song or movie is not directly about love, there is a good chance that love is a sidenote motive. One popular example of a book without a love motive is Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. Popularity of Love Motive There are multiple plausible reasons why the love motive is almost omnipresent. One reason may be that it is a theme that occupies everybody, regardless of age, race or cultural background. Another reason would be that 'love' in these media: novels, songs and movies is similar to 'fun' in games (see external link #1); it is perceived to be more commercially viable when it incorporates that mentality. |
