Lotus Nightclub is a nightclub in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. It is located just off of Gaetz Avenue in the downtown core. It was formerly called The Catwalk due to its structural design. It features a second floor above the seating areas and designed so that patrons can overlook the dance floor crowd. The club is a top 40 dance bar with the odd live performance throughout the year. It also holds themed party nights throughout the year. The bar is usually very busy on weekends and waiting to get in is a common occurrence. The establishment can be dangerous. In August 2011, an enraged patron drove his car straight at the clubs main doors injuring a bouncer. And in September of 2011, a couple fired a gun into The Gent's Club which is attached to Lotus Nightclub and shares the same parking lot. The shooting injured a bouncer and bystander inside the building. Despite this, the bar remains popular with the youth of the region and bills itself Red Deer's hottest bar.
