Long Lost Son

The Long Lost Son is a made-for-television movie produced in 2006. Two of the T.V., film stars are the actor, Craig Sheffer, and the actress, Gabrielle Anwar. The movie was recently shown on Lifetime television as late as 3/19/08 in the late evening playing as an action-adventure-romance, and as a show containing much suspense. Otherwise, the show is classified as a dramatic thriller.

Actors and Plot:
Kristen (Gabrielle Anwar) searches and finds her "long lost son" - thought to be dead - alive in a sub-tropical paradise, living with his father (Craig Sheffer) who is her sailor-ex-husband. After associating with his biological mother, the son unkowingly reveals his mother's name as 'Sheffard' to his father, exposes his mother's anonymity, and jeopardizes her safety and ability to wisk him away from the area and the father's grasp. Upon learning that his ex-wife is in the area, the father informs the local law enforcement who unknowingly and unwittingly help to pressure the ex-wife (and mother) away from her son.

The Drama:
Tension and suspense heat up as the father-and-son team work to remove the woman, Kristen, from her rightful status of seeking and notifying her son of her own existence. The son, under the influence of his father, sees his biological mother as a 'spoiler' to their fishing business and cooperates unwittingly with his father in his efforts and attempts at eliminating the 'problematic' woman, Kristen, from their world.

The Scene
The primary backdrop of this movie is a tropical island paradise. Blue-green waters and old fishing vessels and quaint living quarters dot the scenery in this most majestic film.

The Ending:
Eventually, mother and father come together in harmony for the benefit of the child, and 'all is well that ends well'.
