Due to hyperinflation, everyone in Zimbabwe has become billionaire in Zimbabwean dollar terms since May-2008, but they still could not afford basics because of extreme high cost of goods and plunging value of the Zimbabwean dollar. Even though ten zeros were removed on 1 August, Zimbabwean dollar billionaires were back again by mid-December, until 2 February 2009, when the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe removed 12 zeros from the Zimbabwean dollar.
