There are a large number of tourist attractions in Jamshedpur. Though being an industrial city, there are numerous tourist spots around the city. Notable tourist attractions includes parks, lakes, temples, hills, palaces, forts, caves and mosques. Jharkhand government launched tourism policy is promoting tourism in Jamshedpur. With the development of airport in the city, the tourism will get a major boost here. Attractions Parks and gardens * is a public urban park located in Jamshedpur. It is often regarded as heart of Jamshedpur since it relies on the city center. The park is ranked as one of the largest urban parks of India. It consists of several other parks too. Those includes a water park, zoo and amusement park. * is a part of Jubilee Park where water rides are available. Splash Zone in Nicco Water Amusement Park is considered to be the largest waterpark in the state of Jharkhand. The park is popularly known as the Disneyland of Jharkhand. * Birsa Fun City Water Park is located in Galudih. It is the largest water park of the state. The park is situated at just 30 km away from Jamshedpur on the Jamshedpur-Ghatsila Road in the heart of Galudih. It is designed by Goa based company. Owing to an accident the park was closed. However it got reopened later. Lakes and rivers * is situated around 15 kilometers from the city center of Jamshedpur. It is an artificial lake located near the foothills of Dalma Hills. The lake also includes a dam. Its main purpose of construction was to fulfill the water scarcity of Jamshedpur. The dam was built by Tata Steel. * is a large dam located at Chandil, a town just after Jamshedpur in Seraikela Kharsawan district. The museum located close to the Chandil dam has scripts written on rocks,which are 2000 years old. It is a part of Swarnarekha Multipurpose Project. * also known as Jayanti Sarovar is the largest lake within the city limits of Jamshedpur. It is a part of Jubilee Park. The Bat Island located in the center of the lake is an artificial island. Historical Places * Regal Building is a historical colonial architectural building located on Regal Chowk in Bistupur. It was built in the late 1930s era. The building was built by the leftover steel which was purchased for constructing the Howrah Bridge in Kolkata. It is a commercial building complex home to numerous restaurants, offices and shopping centers. * located in Golmuri Golf Course was installed by the Tinplate Company of India (now Tata Tinplate) in 1940. It is a representation as a memorial to the history of Jamshedpur during both the world wars. * Ichagarh is a historical town nearby Chandil is home to numerous historical landmarks. Those includes the Ichagarh Palace, Jayda Temple and Mathia Temple. There is also a cave located there. Ichagarh was the capital of Patkum estate whose scion was Vikramaditya Singh. Museums and cultural sites * Russi Modi Center of Excellence is home to an art galley collection of Tata Group which displays the history of Tata Group and Jamshedpur. This museum has bee built in the memory of Russi Mody, who was a chairman and managing director of Tata Steel and a leading member of the Tata Group. * Amadubi is a tourism town located at the outskirts of Jamshedpur is home to Jharkandi arts and culture exhibition. Wildlife and Nature * is located around 15 kilometers form the city of Jamshedpur. It is was inaugurated by Rajiv Gandhi in 1975. This wildlife sanctuary is known for the Indian elephant. The wildlife sanctuary is a part of eastern India's elephant corridor. * is part of Jubilee Park. it is a zoo and home to a safari park. This park is popular for Bengal tigers. In this safari park, the animals are left free and tourists roam in safari jeeps. Other than tigers, other animals like hippopotamus, hyenas and gharial are also available. * Dalma Hills are a hill range stretching over the states of Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and West Bengal in eastern India. Religious places * is located in Rohinibera village of Jadugoda town which is part of Jamshedpur metropolitan area. The stone that is the murthi is believed to be a physical incarnation of Goddess Kali. * Roman Catholic Diocese of Jamshedpur have its headquarters in St Joseph Cathedral in Golmuri. * Dhatkidih Masjid located in the neighbourhood of Dhatkidih was built by local sultanates around 150 years ago. Shopping and markets * is one of the largest shopping malls in India. It is located in Outer Ring Road of Bistupur. It has a gross lease-able (retail) area of 600,000 sq ft (56,000 m ).
