In the novel series about feral cats there are a multitude of animal characters that live outside of the main Clans. These characters characters are either antagonists or protagonists and often have speaking roles. Original Series BloodClan Bone Bone was a huge black-and-white cat with green eyes who was Scourge's deputy. Barley, formerly of BloodClan, mentions briefly that he knew Bone. He also says that Bone wasn't much of a deputy, and Barley makes it sound as though Bone was more of a willing cat who carried out Scourge's dirty work. In the battle between LionClan and BloodClan, Bone kills the ThunderClan deputy Whitestorm. Soon after, he is killed by the apprentices Brambleclaw, Ashfur, Tawnypelt, Feathertail, and Stormfur. *Death: Killed by Brambleclaw, Ashfur, Tawnypelt, Feathertail, and Stormfur (all as apprentices) The Darkest Hour Jaggedtooth Jaggedtooth is a massive tabby tom with amber eyes, formerly of ShadowClan and BloodClan. He abandoned ShadowClan after gruesome death and joined BloodClan, turning traitor. Many ShadowClan cats hated him for his cowardice, and Blackstar and Russetfur were the two ShadowClan warriors who decided to chase him away for good. His whereabouts are unknown, but he is either a rogue in Twolegplace, or dead. Before he left, he was one of the guards of the Hole, a deep, dark pit that served as a prison for Mistyfoot, Stonefur, Feathertail, and Stormfur. Ravenpaw outsmarted him by telling him that Tigerstar needed him. Nothing else is known about him. *Apprentices: Rowanclaw Scourge Scourge was a small black tom with one white paw and icy blue eyes. He was the leader of BloodClan, the so-called Clan that lived in a nearby Twolegplace. Though he is very small, this cat leads his Clan with an iron claw and kills anyone who stands against him. He, like many other cats of his Clan, wears a collar studded with the fangs of dogs and cats, and his claws are reinforced with dogs' teeth. Although he is a leader, Scourge does not believe in StarClan. He had two appearances; one was in The Darkest Hour, and another was in Secrets of the Clans. Two moons after the dogs attacked the ThunderClan camp, Tigerstar and Boulder travel through Twolegplace and there, Scourge and his Clan are invited to the forest by Tigerstar, who wants their help to force ThunderClan and WindClan to join TigerClan. When Tigerstar attempts to command BloodClan, after Scourge tells him that he and he alone commands BloodClan, Tigerstar attacks him. Scourge then rips out Tigerstar's throat while tearing his claws down Tigerstar's underside. This wound takes all nine of Tigerstar's lives at once, giving him a slow, agonizing death. Scourge then decides that the forest will be BloodClan's new home. BloodClan and LionClan (the combined cats from all four forest Clans) meet in battle at Fourtrees. Scourge battles with Firestar, taking his first life. Scourge is shocked when Firestar revives, and Firestar kills him when he realizes that Scourge has only one life. With the death of their leader, BloodClan falls apart and retreats. It is said by the authors that Scourge will have his own manga book. *Death: Killed by Firestar, The Darkest Hour Snake and Ice These cats appeared briefly in The Darkest Hour during the great battle against BloodClan. They are twins, both of them gray with tooth-and-claw studded collars. They confront Barley, and recognize him as the cat who "didn't have the courage to stay with Scourge". Barley obviously remembers them, for he attacks them viciously, yelling, "At least I had the courage to leave!" In Secrets of the Clans, it states that these two BloodClan cats are Barley's abandoned brothers that went to BloodClan. They were formerly named Jumper and Hoot until they joined BloodClan, when their names were changed to Snake and Ice. They were the ones who tried to kill Violet as punishment to Barley for sharing a den with her. *Kin: Barley and Violet (siblings) *Formerly Known As: Jumper and Hoot, before they joined BloodClan Loners Barley Barley is a stout black and white tom, and a loner who lives in a Twoleg barn close to Highstones. He is a friend to the Clans, especially to Bluestar (he once saved her from a rat attack), and he allowed Ravenpaw to stay in the barn with him when the apprentice was forced to leave ThunderClan because of Tigerstar. Barley once lived in BloodClan, but he ran away because he was afraid of his leader, Scourge, and what he could do. Because he was born and raised in BloodClan, Barley was able to give Firestar information about the Clan when he joined LionClan to fight in the battle at Fourtrees. Barley also sheltered WindClan in Fire and Ice, and he shelters the Clans on their journey to the new territory in Dawn. Also, Barley has two brothers, Snake and Ice, who live in BloodClan, and a sister, Violet, who is a kittypet. Barley is seen shortly in Firestar's Quest. *Kin: Violet (sister), Snake, Ice/ Jumper, Hoot (brothers) Ravenpaw Ravenpaw is a small black tom with a white-tipped tail, a white dash on his chest, and green eyes. He was the apprentice of Tigerstar in Into the Wild. Ravenpaw had also been the sole witness of Tigerstar killing Redtail, the former ThunderClan deputy. Ravenpaw also became one of Firestar's first friends in ThunderClan, besides Graystripe. After Tigerstar had manipulated cats in the Clan to think Ravenpaw was a traitor, Firestar and Graystripe took him away from the forest to live with Barley, a loner who had helped them previously. Firestar and Graystripe told the Clan that Ravenpaw had been slain by a ShadowClan patrol, and he was then presumed dead by ThunderClan. Later, Firestar reveals the truth of where Ravenpaw was staying to Bluestar. At first she claims that maybe he was just not meant for life as a Clan cat, but only after she discovers the truth of Tigerstar's treachery in Forest of Secrets does she invite him back into the Clan. Ravenpaw, however, chooses to stay a loner with Barley promising to come and visit the Clan again. Though Firestar found himself questioning whether bringing Ravenpaw to Barley's farm was the right thing to do, he later discovers that it was for the best when he sees the formerly skinny and jumpy black tom as a sleek, well-fed loner. Ravenpaw and Barley remain allies to ThunderClan, and help out Firestar and Graystripe numerous times, such as helping WindClan in Fire and Ice, aiding in the battle against BloodClan in The Darkest Hour, pointing the journeying cats in the right direction to the sun-drown-place in Midnight and sheltering the Clans in Dawn. Ravenpaw returns to the forest in Rising Storm to tell Firestar about a lost white kittypet with ThunderClan scent near his territory which turns out to be Firestar's stolen apprentice Cloudtail. In Midnight Ravenpaw also is the first cat to warn Firestar of the huge monsters that are destroying trees when he pays the ThunderClan camp a visit. Ravenpaw was seen shortly in Firestar's Quest. In The Sight Graystripe mentions meeting Ravenpaw who is concerned about Firestar. As a recent change to the official Warriors site, there has been a family tree developed for Graystripe and Sandstorm. However, Ravenpaw and Dustpelt's heritages are still unknown. In an online chat with Erin Hunter, they confirmed that Goldenflower is not Ravenpaw's mother, just a cat that showed concern for him. *Mentor: Tigerstar (until Ravenpaw goes to live with Barley) *Kin: Unknown Kittypets Henry Henry is a plump tabby kittypet, and one of Firestar and old friends. He is mentioned by Smudge, who says he ventured into the woods and caught a robin, but Firestar says he never went into the woods, and that all he did was eat and sleep since his trip to the Cutter (vet). Nothing else is known about him. Princess Princess is a light brown tabby she-cat with a white chest and paws, and blue eyes. She is one of Firestar's kittypet siblings. Split up as kits, Firestar found his sister living in the Twolegplace near Tallpines. Princess loves to hear about his life in the forest and, although worried, knows he is happy there. When she gives birth, she gives Firestar one of the kits, asking him to train her son as a warrior because Fireheart's apprentice, Cinderpelt, had been so injured. Firestar and Cloudtail (Princess's firstborn son) used to often journey back to Twolegplace to speak with Princess, telling her about Clan life and warning her about dangers, such as BloodClan. She makes no appearance in The New Prophecy, but is mentioned a few times by Firestar in Midnight and Cloudtail and Cody in Dawn. *Kin: Unnamed kits, Cloudtail (kits), Firestar, other kittypets (brother and siblings), Whitewing (grandkit) Squirrelflight, Leafpool (nieces), Hollypaw, Jaypaw, Lionpaw (great niece and nephews) Smudge Smudge is a plump, friendly black and white tom with amber eyes, and a kittypet who lives in the Twolegplace that Firestar came from. In Into the Wild, he was Firestar's best friend as a kittypet. The two had grown up together and Smudge is the first to warn Firestar about the wildcats in the forest, telling Firestar that they eat live rabbits for breakfast and sharpen their claws on old bones. Firestar, being more curious, ignores the warning and ventures into the woods. When Firestar decides to take Bluestar up on her offer of joining ThunderClan, he and Smudge spend one last morning together, visiting their old haunts and kittypet friends. Later in Into the Wild, while Firestar is out on his apprentice duties, he attacks Smudge, as Smudge was intruding on ThunderClan territory. At first, Firestar doesn't recognize Smudge because his scent is different (a result of being taken to the Cutter, though Smudge doesn't seem to notice the alteration), though he eventually identifies his old friend and the two chat. Although Firestar is initially mistrusted by Bluestar for speaking so friendly with a kittypet, seeming to miss his former life, Firestar admits that because he talked to Smudge, he knows that he made the right choice in becoming a Clan cat. In Firestar's Quest, it was revealed that he was having the same dreams about SkyClan that Firestar was. The reason Smudge was having these dreams was because his Twoleg nest is where the SkyClan camp used to be. Other Animals Forest Dog Pack The Forest Dog Pack only appeared in one book, A Dangerous Path. They were being fed rabbits by Tigerstar, who hoped to destroy ThunderClan (and especially Firestar). Bluestar thought it was WindClan who were stealing rabbits, but there was plenty of evidence that a dog did. The day after Cloudtail was made a warrior, Swiftpaw and Brightheart went looking for the dogs near Snakerocks. Swiftpaw was killed and Brightheart was permanently scarred. She started to say "Pack, pack, kill, kill," over and over in her sleep, which was the dogs' chant. Later on, Longtail tells Firestar that he saw Tigerstar feeding them. Firestar went to investigate, and found that Tigerstar left a trail of dead rabbits that led to the ThunderClan camp to try to get ThunderClan torn apart when the dogs followed the trail and found the camp. Tigerstar also killed Brindleface to give the dogs a taste of cat blood. Firestar ordered the Clan to hide at Sunningrocks while he, Mousefur, Graystripe, Sandstorm, Longtail, Ferncloud, and Ashfur lured the dogs over the gorge. Tigerstar attacked Firestar close to the gorge, so the pack leader would pull him down, and Bluestar came in and attacked the lead dog, pushing him over the edge, but he grabbed Bluestar's leg and pulled her down too, and Bluestar died. According to the authors, the dogs that survived fled. The New Prophecy Tribe of Rushing Water Bird Bird That Sings At Dusk (Bird) is a gray tabby she-cat and a cave-guard. She was also a former outcast. Not much else is known about her. Crag Crag Where Eagles Nest (Crag) is a dark gray tom with blue eyes, and is a current cave-guard of the Tribe of Rushing Water. In Moonrise, Crag seems to be a very proud cat. He treats Brook like a kit, usually giving her annoyed looks. Crag warms up to the group of traveling Clan cats, and in Dawn, he gives Squirrelflight and her friends a friendly welcome. In Dawn he seemed to be very fond of Leafpool when he shared a rabbit with her at a Telling. Flight Flight of Startled Heron (Flight) is a brown tabby she-cat and a kit-mother. Not much else is known about her. Gray Gray Sky Before Dawn (Gray) is a pale gray tabby tom and a prey-hunter. Not much else is known about him. Jag Jagged Rock Where Heron Sits (Jag) is a dark gray tom and a cave-guard. He was also a former outcast. Not much else is known about him. Mist Mist Where Sunlight Shimmers (Mist) was a light gray she-cat, and is a former cave-guard of the Tribe of Rushing Water. In Moonrise, she is killed by Sharptooth. Not much else is known about her, other than her muscular body and deep voice. *Death: Killed by Sharptooth, Moonrise Night Night of No Stars (Night) is a black she-cat and a cave-guard. Not much else is known about her. Rock For information on the healer of an Unknown Tribe, see here Rock Beneath Still Water (Rock) is a brown tom and a cave-guard. He was also a former outcast. Not much else is known about him. Scree Scree Beneath Winter Sky (Scree) is a large mud-colored tabby tom and is a current cave-guard of the Tribe of Rushing Water. In Firestars quest, it is revealed that Scree fled his tribe (probably for the same reason as Brook and Stormfur) and lived in a hollowed out old tree. Later, the same fox that attacked Clover and her kits killed him. Not much else is known about him. In Moonrise, he argues with Brambleclaw about letting Stormfur go. Sheer Sheer Path Beside Waterfall (Sheer) is a dark brown tabby tom and a cave-guard. Not much is known about him. Star Star That Shines On Water (Star) was a silver tabby she-cat with golden eyes and a former kit-mother/prey-hunter of the Tribe of Rushing Water. She was taken away by Sharptooth in Moonrise, and was killed (and perhaps even eaten). Not much else is known about her. *Death: Killed by Sharptooth, Moonrise Stoneteller Teller of the Pointed Stones (Stoneteller) is a brown tabby tom with amber eyes, and the leader of the Tribe of Rushing Water. Stoneteller is the Clan equivalent of a medicine cat and leader, and is of the highest rank in his Tribe. He gave the questing cats food and shelter. However, he imprisoned Stormfur because he believed he was the cat destined to kill Sharptooth, but the chosen cat was really Feathertail. When the four Clans make the final journey to the sun-drown place, Stoneteller gives them food and shelter on their way. Talon Talon of Swooping Eagle (Talon) is a huge dark brown tom with amber eyes and a huge scar over his left eye from where an eagle's talon injured him as a kit. He is the older brother of Brook, and he is from an older litter. When their mother was killed by Sharptooth, Talon looked after Brook. Talon is also a former outcast, though currently a cave-guard of the Tribe of Rushing Water. In Moonrise, the six journeying Clan cats meet Talon in a small cave, along with Rock Where Snow Gathers (Rock) and Bird Who Rides the Wind (Bird). He, Rock, and Bird introduce themselves as the survivors of a group of six cats who were sent by Stoneteller many seasons before, after Stoneteller was given a sign from the Tribe of Endless Hunting. Stoneteller ordered the group to kill Sharptooth, and not to return to the Tribe without Sharptooth's pelt. Since the Tribe cats couldn't kill him, they remained as outcasts in the mountains. Talon, Rock, and Bird eventually return to the Tribe with Stormfur and the other Clan cats. They are met with great hostility from the Tribe at first as their return is seen as disobedience with the punishment of death. Talon promises that they'll help the Tribe defeat Sharptooth, or be killed if they fail, and Stoneteller lets them stay. After Sharptooth is killed by Feathertail, Talon, Rock, and Bird are able to rejoin the Tribe as cave-guards. In Dawn, Talon and two other cave-guards, Jagged Rock Where Heron Sits (Jag) and Night of No Stars (Night), come across Squirrelflight while she is hunting a falcon. The Tribe cats catch the falcon before Squirrelflight does and Talon is surprised to see her again. Soon after, the cave-guards go with Squirrelflight to the place where the four Clans are sheltering, and they take the Clan cats to the Cave of Rushing Water. *Kin: Brook Where Small Fish Swim (younger sister) Wing Wing Shadow Over Water (Wing) is a gray and white she-cat and a kit-mother. Not much is known about her. It is unknown if she is really a prey-hunter or a cave-guard. Other Cats Coal For information on the Coal in Firestar's Quest, see here. Coal is a tattered, black, old tom with ripped ears. He is a rogue, and first appears in Dawn. When he is captured by the Twolegs and meets the Clan cats as well as other rogues, he does nothing but tell them his name. Cody mentions that he stole garbage from her housefolk. When he bites a Twoleg, and subsequently gets pushed by it into something sharp in his cage, Leafpool gives him a cobweb and tells him how to heal his wound with it. He was freed along with the other cats. Cody Cody is a tabby she-cat with blue eyes, and a kittypet that was captured by the Twolegs when she lost her collar in Dawn. She becomes friends with Leafpool when they were trapped in their cages. On an interesting note, Cody tells Leafpool of how her friend, Smudge, told her of a bright orange cat called Rusty who went into the forest to join the woodland cats. Leafpool tells her of how her father wasn't always a Clan cat, and Cody comes to the conclusion that Firestar must have been Smudge's old friend, Rusty. When the ThunderClan cats come to the rescue, Cody escapes the Twolegs and spends some time with ThunderClan. She stays in the nursery, helping Ferncloud cope with the death of her litter by telling Ferncloud of how she once had a litter. At first, Leafpool and Ferncloud are shocked, thinking that the litter had died, but Cody quickly explains that her Twolegs gave the kits good homes, although Cody still missed them just as much. Cody also helps Ferncloud by taking care of Birchkit. Cody returns to her Twolegs (though she was offered a spot in the Clan by Leafpool) when the Clans decide to journey to their new home. Before she leaves, Cody admits to Leafpool that she did enjoy the freedom she felt with ThunderClan. However, she also prefers knowing where she'll be sleeping each night and that there will be food for her if she gets hungry, as opposed to having to fight for shelter and fresh-kill like the Clan cats. She also tells Leafpool that she'll keep an eye out for Graystripe, who was captured by the Twolegs during the cats' escape from the cages, and that she'll tell him where ThunderClan has gone. *Kin: Unknown kits (kits) Floss Floss is a small gray and white she-cat that lives in the barn on the horseplace. Her mate is Smoky, and they had a litter of kits that were taken away by Twolegs. Cloudtail is angry at the Twolegs for doing so. *Mate: Smoky (loner) *Kin: Unnamed kits (taken away by the Nofurs, or Twolegs) Jacques and Susan Jacques and Susan are the two kittypets from the ShadowClan territory at the lakeshores. Jacques is a large black and white tom with a torn ear, and Susan is a small tabby she-cat. The kittypets first appeared in Starlight, where they attacked Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, Tawnypelt, and Crowfeather while they explored the new territory. Losing against the group, they continued to attack (and even kill) cats that were on their own or injured. Three of their known victims were Squirrelflight (while deciding where the ShadowClan's camp would be, survived), Tawnypelt (survived, thanks to Squirrelflight), and Talonpaw (who was killed while dragging himself to camp). ShadowClan and ThunderClan combined their forces in a rare event to attack the two kittypets and force them to leave them alone. Their names were only mentioned in Secrets of the Clans. In the main series, their names were not revealed. Purdy Purdy is a tabby tom loner and former kittypet with amber eyes who lives in the Twolegplace near the sea. He lead the questing cats through the Twolegplace getting them lost numerous times. Despite that, the chosen cats (with the exception of Crowfeather) consider him a loyal friend. Purdy also meets Midnight the badger, though he is hostile to her at first. In Moonrise, he declines going over the mountains that led to the Tribe of Rushing Water. Sasha Sasha is a golden tabby she-cat and also Tigerstar's second mate. She is currently a rogue. Her kits, Hawkfrost and Mothwing, are cats of RiverClan. She gave them up to the Clan when they were born. Sasha was one of the cats taken by the Twolegs in Dawn, including Cody, Leafpool, and Mistyfoot. She is quite snappish and also does not seem to believe in StarClan. When the four Clans prepare to leave the forest, Sasha offers to take Mothwing and Hawkfrost away to live with her. They refused to do so, since Mothwing was now RiverClan's only medicine cat, and Hawkfrost was more loyal to his Clan, and later on, Tigerstar. *Mate: Tigerstar (ThunderClan/ShadowClan) *Kin: Hawkfrost, Mothwing (kits) Smoky Smoky is a muscular gray and white tomcat who is the father of Daisy's three kits, Mousepaw, Hazelpaw, and Berrypaw, and Floss' kits. He is a loner who lives at the horseplace and he is first introduced in Starlight, along with a pregnant Daisy. Smoky is very hostile toward the ThunderClan and WindClan cats when they pass by the horseplace while traveling to the Gathering. Smoky and Mudclaw almost fight, but they are stopped by a WindClan queen, Whitetail, who says that "He was only defending his nursery." At that time, the third horseplace cat, Floss, had recently given birth to kits. Despite his hospitality in Starlight, during Sunset, Smoky is very kind to Brambleclaw and Cloudtail when they come to retrieve Daisy and her three kits. Although Smoky had said he had missed Daisy and their kits, he admits that the kits wouldn't have settled to living in the barn. He goes on to say that Daisy can always come back when the kits are fully grown. Cloudtail then says that Smoky could come to the forest with Daisy, but Smoky declines the offer. *Mate: Daisy (ThunderClan/loner), Floss (loner) *Kin: Hazelpaw, Berrypaw, Mousepaw (Daisy's kits), Floss's unnamed kits Unnamed Kittypets These two kittypets got into a fight with Squirrelflight, Brambleclaw, Feathertail, Stormfur, Crowfeather, and Tawnypelt when they were going on the journey to the sun-drown-place in Midnight. According to Brambleclaw, these kittypets are larger than most warriors. Squirrelflight told one of them to "back off". The fight ended when a female Twoleg opened the door to her nest and the two kittypets came in. Nothing else is known about them. In Starlight, during the fight with Jacques and Susan (two more hostile kittypets), Brambleclaw remembered the fight with these unnamed kittypets. Other Animals Midnight Midnight is a badger who lives near the sea. Unlike most badgers, she believes in StarClan and is friendly to cats. When the questing cats arrived at the sun-drown-place, she told them about the Twolegs' destruction of their homeland and gives Tawnypelt burdock root for her rat bite. Later, in Twilight, she tries to warn the Clans about the badger attack. She came a little too late, although she saved the Clan from being wiped out by bringing WindClan to help. Most cats consider her a friend. It is a known fact that other badgers (especially her kin) call her "cat-friend" or other harsher insults. The cats of ThunderClan beg her to stay in the forest, but she goes back to the sun-drown place, hinting the cats would run into her again. *Kin: Unnamed badgers Midnight's Kin These badgers, although kin to Midnight, care nothing about living peacefully with cats. They attacked ThunderClan in Twilight, to try to kill them, although the only two cats that died during the attack were Sootfur and Cinderpelt. Molepaw, Cinderpaw, Poppypaw, and Honeypaw, Sorreltail's kits, were born during this attack, and Cinderpelt died defending Sorreltail from the badgers. *Kin: Midnight, each other Pip Pip is a black and white terrier who lives at the horseplace, who Smoky mentioned once, yet its name was not directly said in the series. Not much else is known about him. Sharptooth Sharptooth was a lion-cat that terrorized the Tribe of Rushing Water. A prophecy was given to the Tribe, saying that a cat with silver fur will kill Sharptooth. It was first thought that this cat was Stormfur, but it turned out to be Feathertail. When the Tribe first saw the traveling cats, Feathertail's fur was dark and matted from falling in the waterfall, so it did not appear silver. Feathertail sent a large, sharply pointed rock (a stalactite) crashing down and impaling the monster cat, killing him and herself. *Death: Killed by a falling rock, Moonrise Power of Three Other Animals Lake Dog Pack The Lake Dog Pack were a pack of dogs that attacked WindClan. Before the attack, Jaypaw looked into the other medicine cats' dreams when he happened to come across Barkface's dream. Tallstar told Barkface about the dogs coming into WindClan territory. Jaypaw tried to take advantage of the dog attack. He told ThunderClan to take some of WindClan territory while WindClan was preoccupied by the attack, insisting that WindClan should defend themselves. However, Firestar refused to go along with Jaypaw's plan, instead coming to WindClan's aid at the time of the attack and helping to fend them off. Three Unnamed Foxes In The Sight, a ThunderClan warrior found a dead fox on their territory. It was later revealed that there were cubs. Many patrols were sent out in order to find the fox cubs and get rid of them. Hollypaw, Lionpaw, and Jaypaw were jealous, and set off to find the fox cubs all by themselves (this was breaking the warrior code, because they were still kits). When they found them, they realized that the foxes were much bigger than they originally thought, and began to run. The foxes split up and each chased one kit. Jaypaw's pursuer chased him over the hollow, making him fall into the camp. One patrol chased one of the foxes onto ShadowClan territory, but there wasn't any sign of the other two. Later on, Jaypaw got into a fight with the same fox who chased him over a cliff. Firestar's Quest SkyClan Other Cats Bella Bella is a tabby and white she-cat with amber eyes and a kittypet. Firestar thought she looked like his sister, Princess. Bella was invited to the meeting, but didn't want to come. Cherrytail said Bella was a good friend. Nothing else is known about Bella. Coal For information on the Coal in the New Prophecy Series, see here. Coal is a black tom seen in Firestar's Quest. He is a rogue. Cora, another rogue, says he is a boaster. Nothing else is known about him. Cora Cora is a black she-cat rogue. She and Twig introduced several other rogues to Firestar, including Shorty, who led Firestar to Sandstorm. Nothing else is known about her. Hattie Hattie is a pretty brown tabby she-cat. She is the kittypet who lives with Firestar's former Twolegs. She was seen in The Darkest Hour but wasn't mentioned by name until Firestar's Quest. Hutch Hutch is a dark brown tabby tom, and was a kittypet who joined SkyClan and was renamed Shortwhisker. He is under-confident, and undetermined, and very self-conscious, to the point of not wanting to train in front of the other cats. Though Hutch fought well in the battle against the rats, he was greatly frightened, and decided to leave SkyClan. He calls himself Hutch again. *Formerly Known As: Shortwhisker Lichen Lichen is a slender mottled brown she-cat rogue. She came to the meeting to rebuild SkyClan, but politely declined the offer to join. Nothing else is know about Lichen. Lily and Rose Lily and Rose are cream and brown she-cats seen in Firestar's Quest. Firestar thinks they are very unusual. Lily and Rose are identical, with slender bodies, brown tails, legs, muzzles, and ears, brilliant blue eyes, and high-pitched yowls. They are siamese cats. They were invited to the meeting, but they didn't want to come. Lowbranch Lowbranch was Skywatcher's and Twig's mother. Her own mother was born into SkyClan. Lowbranch gave Skywatcher the name Sky so he would always remember SkyClan. Lowbranch's friend was Pricklenose. Lowbranch mentored Pricklenose's kits, while Pricklenose mentored Twig and Sky. Later Firestar renamed Sky Skywatcher. *Apprentices: Pricklenose's unknown kits *Mate: Unknown *Kin: Skywatcher, Twig (kits) Oscar Oscar is muscular black tomcat with green eyes, and a stuck-up kittypet. Firestar noted he has SkyClan blood. Firestar invited him to SkyClan, and he considered coming, but acted like a show-off. He came to the meeting, but said he "only came to see what mouse-brained ideas Firestar came up with." He then struts off. Oscar was later seen when Firestar was looking for a new medicine cat, and tried to convince Echosong that the ideas Firestar has were ridiculous and she shouldn't go, but to no avail. Pricklenose Pricklenose was a friend of Lowbranch. She mentored Skywatcher and Twig, while Lowbranch mentored Pricklenose's kits. Nothing else is known about her. *Apprentices: Skywatcher, Twig *Mate: Unknown *Kin: Unnamed kits (kits) Scree For the Scree from the Tribe of Rushing Water, see this article. Scree is an old rogue mentioned by Leafstar. He lived in a dead willow tree. He died following a fight with a fox, even though he was assisted by Leafstar. Nothing else is known about him. *Death: Injuries Shorty Shorty is a brown tabby seen in Firestar's Quest. When Sandstorm and Firestar became lost in a town, Shorty saved Sandstorm from a pair of children. He later helped Firestar reunite with Sandstorm. When his job was completed, he said he hoped he would see Firestar again, and Shorty wished the pair of them good luck. Nothing else is known about Shorty. Snowy Snowy is a white she-cat queen seen in Firestar's Quest. Stick says she spends a lot of time around Twolegs. Nothing else is known about Snowy. Stick Stick is a scrawny brown tom with a torn ear. He, along with Cora, introduced Firestar to several rogues. Nothing else is known about Stick. Tangle Tangle is a large, ragged tabby tom rogue seen in Firestar's Quest. He has a bad temper and doesn't like other cats. He was invited to the meeting, but did not come. Nothing else is known about Tangle. Twig Twig is the brother of Skywatcher, and the kit of Lowbranch. He was mentored by his mother's friend, Pricklenose. After tasting pet food, Twig chose to live with Twolegs instead of in the wild. Skywatcher never saw his brother again, and nothing else is known about Twig's life as a kittypet. *Mentor: Pricklenose *Kin: Skywatcher (brother), Lowbranch (mother) Other Animals Rats The rats in the barn near SkyClan's territory were a threat to SkyClan before and during Firestar's Quest. They were an enormous group led by a single, very intelligent rat who could even speak cat. The rats were the ones who drove the first SkyClan out of their home in the gorge, and they sought to drive out the second SkyClan. In Firestar's Quest, the rats first attack a SkyClan patrol, and then launch an attack on the cats in the gorge itself. Finally, the cats of SkyClan, led by Firestar, attack the rats in their barn and the two groups engage in a long battle. Firestar eventually kills the rat leader, but not before losing one of his own lives. The rats also take the life of a SkyClan warrior, Rainfur. After the lead rat is killed, the other rats flee and never threaten the cats again. Manga Series Other Cats Duke Duke is a large black and white tom with a torn ear. Little is known about him, except that he is a kittypet who fights with Graystripe and beats him the first time. It is said by Millie that no cat has been able to beat him. He next meets Graystipe and Millie when he's with by two other kittypets. This time, though, Graystripe is able to defeat Duke, who flees the scene, calling Graystripe and Millie savages. He is very aggressive and mean towards cats who stray onto his territory, and threatens them. *Appearance: Large black and white tom with amber eyes Duke's Allies These two cats fought for Duke the second time he fought against Graystripe. While Graystripe aimed for Duke, Millie distracted his allies. Nothing else is known about them Two Unnamed Kittypets For information on the two unnamed hostile kittypets that made an appearance in Midnight, see here. These two kittypets only appeared once in The Lost Warrior. One of them is black, the other is white. They have met Millie before, saying she comes and goes around their Twoleg Nest whenever she feels like it. When telling this to Graystripe, they also asked if he ate bones when he lived in the forest. He obviously didn't, but instead he said he ate the bones of kittypets like them. When they bolted, Graystripe realized he didn't feel as good as he thought he would. He just felt lonely. Warriors Field Guide: Secrets of the Clans Unknown Tribe Rock For information on the Tribe of Rushing Water cave-guard, see here Rock was a healer of an unknown Tribe. He said he was glad that other cats are using the Moonpool. He explained he (along with the other two Tribe-Healers) went to the Moonpool to speak with the Tribe of Endless Hunting a long time ago. Rock also told more information about the Moonpool. His and the other two Tribe-Healers' footprints are still there. BloodClan Violet Violet is Barley's sister, a fragile ginger she-cat with darker ginger streaks, and tiny, delicate paws. She broke the rules, and had a nest for herself and Barley (with no one else). When Bone found out, Snake and Ice tried to kill her, but she survived, and is now living with a kittypet named Fuzz. *Kin: Barley, Snake (Hoot), Ice (Jumper), (brothers) Other Cats Fuzz Fuzz is a kittypet who took care of Violet when Barley ran away from BloodClan. He wasn't the brightest cat either, as he called Barley "Erbarley" and "Justbarley" when Barley tried to explain that his name was Barley. His Twolegs are most likely veterinarians, because they healed the scratch on Barley's leg, and are tending to Violet, who he said was the most beautiful cat he had ever seen. See Also
