This list comprises historical figures regarded by certain divisions of society to be megalomaniacs, that is to say, people who exhibit delusions of grandeur and/or an obsession with accumulating power. Note that different people have differing opinions on who and who isn't a megalomaniac.

I don't think it's fair to include Thatcher, Bush, or Blair on this list, considering how they did step down when their term limits were up. That shows either a misunderstanding of megalomania on the list author's part, or a simple dislike of conservative leaders, or perhaps both. But the other leaders on the list I totally agree with, especially Eva Peron, considering how she was either so out of touch with reality or had such an inflated ego that she actually died believing herself to be a saint!
