List of Ethnic Poles This page is a list of notable people who are considered, either by others or by themselves, to be ethnically Polish. Names on this list are differentiated from those on List of Poles by including individuals whose Polish status is not entirely clear. For example, someone who, though they were not born in Poland and never held Polish citizenship, still considered themselves "Polish" either by having a Polish parent, or in some other way being closely connected to Polish culture. This includes Polish-Americans, people with clearly Polish surnames, and other mixed nationalities. As a general guideline, someone who was born in Poland or who had Polish parents and was raised in a clear Polish culture (such as being fluent in the Polish language from a young age), is probably more appropriately placed on the List of Poles. However, it is acceptable for someone's name to be on both lists. |
