Lino F. Villarruz

Lino F. Villarruz is a composer, music director and unarguably known as the best painter in Capiz. At the Roxas City Museum, his paintings are on view as well as those of other local artists. Lino's style emulates the works of the Pointilists like Georges Seurat. He also dabbles in abstract paintings. He is also one of the favorite painters of Mrs. Judy Roxas, mother of Mar Roxas.
One Visayas Logo
Roxas City (2 March) -- The 2nd One Visayas One People One Destiny logo highlights the seven art disciplines around a big Capiz shell, which will be the centerpiece of the biggest culture and arts-based festival from March 11 to 14.
Capiz shell, of which Capiz is famously associated with, symbolizes the Capiz provincial government as host of the celebration. Capiz being the "Center of Seafood Trip Tourism in the Philippines as declared by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
A core group of One Visayas Executive Committee has concurred the Logo, primarily designed by local artist Lino F. Villarruz, to be the symbol of this year's One Visayas celebration.
The ballet dancer in the Logo represents dance, the G clef for music, masks for theater, book and pen for literaturem kitchen utensils for culinary art, brushes for visual arts and T-square, pencil and triangle for architecture.
Being placed around and attached to the Capiz shell connotes the commonality of all Visayan regions in terms of culture, history and arts.
The Logo's green, gold and orange colors represent the number of regions comprising the Visayas and their strong desire for unity amid diversities.

* Lino is a Fourth Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Circulo Galante and a chartered member of Lions Club in Roxas City.
* His father, Salvador Villarruz, was a freemason.
