Lindsay Reynolds was an openly gay character on Shortland Street. History Lindsey first appeared on Wednesday, 23 April 2008. In that episode, he is openly gay, unlike Gerald Tippett, who is still trying to figure out what he wants. Yvonne Jeffries and Libby Jeffries are both delighted to see Lindsey, thinking this is just what Gerald needs. The two quickly catch up at a dinner arranged by Libby. Lindsey reveals his past in Sydney and the night he went to a gay bar. Gerald is disgusted and ultimately wants Lindsey out of the house, but tries not to show it. Gerald says he is tired, and leads Lindsey to the door, where Lindsey kisses a confused Gerald. On the 28th they go on a date. It ends with Gerald saying, "I want to go home to bed with you", but nothing happens. To assist Lindsey with his quest, Libby persuades Kieran Mitchell to rent gay movies for Gerald to watch, but that plan fails, as Gerald is disgusted by what he ses. A day later, Gerald asks Lindsey to go to the flat for lunch; the two end up in bed, but things go from bad to worse when Gerald gives Lindsey a bleeding nose. Lindsey decides that it is best that the two remain friends, and they shake hands.
