LG Records is a Scottish independent record label and the lead label for musicians who utilize the online game platform and game creation system Roblox, a genre self proclaimed by the artists as "r-pop." Though unaffiliated with Roblox Corporation, the label was founded in August 2021 by CEO LennonG specifically for Roblox music. On 1 April 2022, LG aquired the fellow r-pop label RH Studio and Belasconsal was appointed COO. On 11 June 2022, the label rebranded and downsized, letting many artists go. Roblox Glastonbury Festival On 22 July 2022, LG hosted a Roblox version of the Glastonbury Festival of contemporary performing arts, featuring an exact replica of Worthy Farm. However, the event was much more popular than expected, causing major internet lag and attracting hackers. It was then rescheduled as a two-day event on the 29th and 30 July with smaller server sizes and exploitation filters in place to prevent hacking. |
